Donation Guidelines
The Book Burrow takes donations of materials in very good condition. Donations may be dropped off on the shipping dock of the Downtown Lansing Library, 401 S. Capitol Ave., Monday-Friday, 8 am-3 pm. Please limit your donation to three file box-size boxes or three shopping bags.
Items that are NOT accepted include:
- encyclopedias
- text books (with the exception of math titles)
- dated material over 2 years old (i.e. travel books, computer books, magazines, romance series like Harlequin, etc.)
- cassette tapes
- vinyl LP records
- anything with mildew, water or food damage, broken spines, torn pages, highlighted text or other interior marking on pages
- seminar or corporate manuals

If your donation does not meet our guidelines, you can donate books at these alternate sites:

You can recycle old books at
- MSU Public Recycling Dropoff, 223 Surplus and Recycling Center (Farm Lane and Green Way), East Lansing (517-355-1723) They attempt to re-sell or donate before recycling.
