Student Success Initiative

What is the Student Success Initiative?

CADL is partnering with school districts in its service area to provide all students with access to our educational resources.

Through this initiative, students in participating districts can get a library card no matter where they live. It gives them access to books, audiobooks, magazines and more in both digital and physical formats.

Students and parents are responsible for returning items to a CADL branch.

How Do Students Receive the Card?

Every current student in a participating district will be given a virtual SSI card. Students use a school district code with their username or ID number as their card number. Many students will also receive a physical SSI card with their card number. (Students or their guardians may opt out by requesting a form from the school.)

SSI cards are not connected with any other CADL account. Students may have an SSI account and a regular Youth account.

How Do I Know If My School Participates?

Current participating school districts include:

  • Dansville Schools
  • Haslett Public Schools
  • Holt Public Schools
  • Lansing School District
  • Leslie Public Schools
  • Mason Public Schools
  • Okemos Public Schools (Grades 5-12)
  • Stockbridge Community Schools
  • Webberville Community Schools
