Student Success Initiative

What is the Student Success Initiative?

CADL is partnering with school districts in its service area to provide all students with access to our educational resources.

Through this initiative, students in participating districts can get a virtual library card no matter where they live. It gives them access to books, audiobooks, magazines and more in both digital and physical formats.

No overdue fines are charged for physical items but students and parents are responsible for returning them to a CADL branch.

How Do Students Receive the Card?

Every current student in a participating district will be given a virtual SSI card. No physical card is issued—students simply use a school district code with their username as their card number. (Students or their guardians may opt out by requesting a form from the school.)

SSI cards are not connected with any other CADL account. Students may have an SSI account and a regular Youth account.

How Do I Know If My School Participates?

Current participating school districts include:

  • Dansville Schools
  • Haslett Public Schools
  • Leslie Public Schools
  • Stockbridge Community Schools
  • Webberville Community Schools

What Can Students Do with the Card?

  • Use public computers in the library (subject to current pandemic procedures and policies).
  • Borrow three physical books, audiobooks or magazines at a time. Items can be placed on hold and picked up at your desired branch.
  • Use CADL's Download & Streaming services and access Research & Learn resources.
