Add to your Summer of Fun with our Library of Things

By now you have probably used or at least heard about Capital Area District Libraries’ innovative collection called the Library of Things. Adults with a CADL card can check out items to learn new skills, explore areas of interest, or help with everyday tasks—free of charge.

This is especially great if you only need to use something for a short time, such as a sewing machine, borescope, thermal camera or metal detector. Why spend your hard-earned cash if you can borrow from the library?

But while the practicality of the Library of Things can’t be denied, I want to make sure you’re aware of the “fun factor” of this rich recreational resource! From outdoor games and equipment like the newly-added Kubb lawn game, ladderball, and GoPro action kits (perfect for the upcoming summer season) to craft kits and indoor play options like American Girl dolls, Magna-Tiles and weaving looms, the Library of Things can provide hours of fun and enrichment for you and your family.

If your family does Game Nights, check out our vast array of titles to add some variety—Ticket to Ride, Carcassonne, Pandemic, Heaven & Ale, and many more can help your family disconnect from the tech and have fun together.

Browse the collection at www.cadl.org/things. Don’t have a card? Sign up at any branch or www.cadl.org/card.
