June 8-14, 2026: The Buzz with Buzzitta

Capital Area District Libraries summer events across Ingham County, including the 2026 Summer Reading Challenge kickoff. The Buzz with Buzzitta is our weekly rundown of upcoming free programs at our 14 CADL locations, hosted by Mark Buzzitta.

This week: the 2026 Summer Reading Challenge, "Unearth A Story," officially is now underway, featuring more than 1,000 free programs and events this summer.

Featured events:

• Tuesday, June 9, 10:30 am at CADL Aurelius: Try circus skills like juggling, balance, tightrope walking and unicycle practice in a safe, fun environment with the Cirque Amongus Circus School.
• Wednesday, June 9,10:30 am at CADL Williamston: Join Michigan State University archaeologists to learn about artifacts and site identification.
• Thursday, June 11, various times at CADL Dansville, CADL Haslett, CADL Okemos & CADL Webberville: A prehistoric adventure with Dr. Sarah Tops, colorful dinosaur puppets, science, storytelling and imagination.
• Saturday, June 13, 1 pm at CADL South Lansing: Kick off the Summer Reading Challenge with llamas and fun activities.
