Capital Area District Libraries summer events across Ingham County, including the 2026 Summer Reading Challenge kickoff. The Buzz with Buzzitta is our weekly rundown of upcoming free programs at our 14 CADL locations, hosted by Mark Buzzitta.
This week: the 2026 Summer Reading Challenge, "Unearth A Story," officially is now underway, featuring more than 1,000 free programs and events this summer.

- Tuesday, June 16 at 1 PM at CADL Haslett: Bugs on Wheels - Learn about bugs and discover why these amazing, important creatures are not so scary.
- Wednesday, June 17 at 10:30 AM at CADL Williamston: Dino Dig Bubble Dance Party - Stomp onto a bubble-filled dance floor with a dinosaur bubble show, dance breaks and dinosaur egg excavation.
- Thursday, June 18 at 10:30 AM Dansville Elementary School: Bubble Science - Explore Bubble Geometry and bubbly chemical reactions, learn how to hold a bubble and see an audience member put inside a bubble.
- Thursday, June 18 at 2 PM at CADL Foster: Jeff Wawrzaszek’s Best of the Best Summer Reading Magic Show - Imaginative magic, hilarious visual humor and audience interaction featuring Jeff’s best family performance material.
