July 27-August 2, 2026: The Buzz with Buzzitta

Capital Area District Libraries summer events across Ingham County, including the 2026 Summer Reading Challenge. The Buzz with Buzzitta is our weekly rundown of upcoming free programs at our 14 CADL locations, hosted by Mark Buzzitta.

This week:

Wednesday, July 29, 1 pm at CADL Williamston, join Potter Park Zoo to hear stories about animals that live right here in Michigan. Explore native forest and wetland animals in Michigan that can be found in your backyard!

Thursday, July 30, 6:30 pm at CADL Okemos, join community street band, Splendid Chaos, for a performance outside. Then, head inside for crafts and interacting with the band and their instruments. Dancing ribbons, shakers, chairs and picnic blankets provided. Feel free to bring your own lawn chair or blanket.

Friday, July 31, 1 pm at CADL Haslett, Join Dr. Katie Maloney and her paleontology students in a series of stations exploring fossils and paleontology techniques. Open to all ages.

And announcing our 2026 One Grand Read book…There's Always This Year: On Basketball and Ascension by Hanif Abdurraqib is available for check out. We are excited to welcome the author on Sunday, September 27 at the Kellog Center in East Lansing.
