August 17-23, 2026: The Buzz with Buzzitta
Capital Area District Libraries summer events across Ingham County, including the 2026 Summer Reading Challenge. The Buzz with Buzzitta is our weekly rundown of upcoming free programs at our 14 CADL locations, hosted by Mark Buzzitta.
• Tuesday, August 18, 3:30 pm at CADL Haslett: Make a Mosaic Coaster. Use our supplies to make your own mosaic coaster. Register online at cadl.org/events.
• Wednesday, August 19, 11 am at CADL Okemos: Short Story Pass Around. Each month everyone will start a short story based on a writing prompt and every 10 minutes we’ll pass our stories on to the next person to pick up where we left off. We’ll end each session with sharing the stories and discussion about how they evolved. This group will meet on the third Monday of each month.
• Thursday, August 20, 4 pm at CADL Foster: Meet and Greet Zeke the Wonderdog! "Cindy Lou" (aka Zeke V), the beloved unofficial mascot and Frisbee-catching star of Michigan State University will be visiting CADL! See her do some tricks, and kids learn to throw a frisbee as well as learn about dog safety. Zeke will also be appearing at CADL Dansville on Tuesday, August 24 at 3:30 pm and CADL Leslie on Saturday, September 19 at 11 am.
