Author, artist, and illustrator Maira Kalman pays homage to her indomitable mother, Sara Berman, in this unique illustrated book that both tells the story of Sara, as well as showcases photographs from the 2015 New York gallery exhibit that featured her recreated closet.  With a life that began in Belarus through later years marked by fierce self-determination and individuality, Sara Berman’s story is an inspiration, and a testament to the beauty of a life well lived.
