Alicia is on a mission. Someone has taken River Mumma's golden comb, and she wants it back. Alicia has one day to find it before River Mumma disappears, taking all the water with her. Whew. That's kind of an intense ask. But does Alicia do it? You'll have to read to find out! While I am not familiar with Jamaican folklore, I still found this book to be very enjoyable and easy to follow along. Plus, I learned something. Bonus! If you're a fan of folktales and magical realism, definitely give this book a try.
