An album I can listen to beginning to end, on repeat.

Mumford and Sons have had my heart since the major release of “Little Lion Man” as they dance on the edge of rock and British folk—in my head the adjacent genre of Americana. Driving banjo, great writing, Marcus Mumford’s lead vocals, and beautifully blended harmonies. This album is absolutely all that with a depth of experience and a series of great collaborations. I can listen to it beginning to end on repeat. The album opens with “Here” a Chris Stapleton collab, followed by the lead single “Rubber Band Man” co-written by Brandi Carlisle and featuring Hozier—they have always been amazing together and I hope it’s just the first of many studio collaborations. Other songs that have stuck with me include: “The Banjo Song” with Jon Bellion,  “Run Together” which includes a writing credit to Finneas, “Conversations With My Son (Gangsters & Angels)”—that Outre is driving and heartfelt, “Alleycat”, “Icarus” featuring Gigi Perez, “Badlands” featuring Gracie Abrams, “I’ll Tell You Everything,” and the final quiet track “Clover.”
