A Hero's Guide to Summer Vacation

Road tripping with his famous reclusive author of a grandfather is not Gonzalo’s idea of a good time.

Gonzalo Alberto Garcia (probably not named after the famous storybook character, thank you very much) is not happy. He’s stuck visiting his grandfather, the famous author of a Percy Jackson-esque fantasy series, for the summer, as his grandfather and mother prepare to release the final book of the series, with all the publicity that entails. Apparently, that entails a road trip from California to Florida in a 1968 convertible, just grandfather and grandson. Over the course of ten days, these two loners discover what it means to really connect to family through stories, share history, and grieve losses both old and new.
