Lord Huron’s fifth studio album is a solid volume of introspective exploration with beautiful writing and a thick atmospheric sound evoking the American west. If you’ve liked their previous albums definitely check this out. If they’re new to you, they get bunched with groups like Mumford and Sons, The Lumineers, or Head and the Heart, but they have their own distinct sound. I gauge a lot of music by how well it works for a car ride, and this one evokes sun and big skies for me.
