Jill Scott is an icon and her first album in 10 years is a vibe!

To Whom it May Concern is a wonderful blend of styles including spoken word, neo soul, rap, and NOLA-based jazz (complete with Trombone Shorty). It’s the type of collection I want for a sunny drive. The lyrics are smart and often humorous, and you get more out of each listen. The message (and brass backing) in “Be Great” is wonderful! “Right Here, Right Now” made me want to dance. “Disclaimer” and “Pay U on Tuesday” made me laugh then nod, reminding me of Ella Fitzgerald. There’s emotional depth and a solid foundation and assurance in the writing and messaging. I highly recommend it.
