Columbo Mystery Movie Collection 1990

A long running throwback crime drama

After a nostalgic discussion with my colleague about 1970s television crime dramas, I started binge watching this series.  These made-for-TV movies are very much character driven. Fans absolutely love Lieutenant Columbo’s quirky nature – his scruffy attire, cigar smoking, beat-up car, adorable but untrainable dog, and his devotion to his wife whom he frequently mentions, but is never seen on screen throughout the series.  Despite having a knack for piecing together convoluted evidence, he often solves cases by catching unsuspecting criminals off guard with his bumbling absent-minded demeanor.  This collection of six 90-minute shows is season nine of the series. Most of the other 69 episodes of Colombo are available in DVD format at CADL. The series is perfect for fans of the crime drama series, Monk.
