This is the seventh book in Chien’s Noodle Shop Mystery Series. Lana Lee is the manager of Ho-Lee Noodle House, her family’s restaurant in a western suburb of Cleveland, Ohio. She is a very capable manager with an embarrassing secret; she doesn’t know how to cook. Things get a little dicey when the instructor of a Chinese cooking class, in which she is secretly enrolled, is murdered and the police consider her the prime suspect. I’m a big cozy mystery fan and to date this is my favorite series, by far. It has great characters, humorous situations, and an appealing ambiance – a shopping plaza, Asia Village, which consists of a variety Chinese and Taiwanese businesses. Finally, Chinese food is my favorite international cuisine and there are plenty of references to scrumptious dishes throughout the series. So, I can indulge in my head without the calories, L.O.L.
