Katherine Applegate’s book The Pocket Bear is a story of bravery, loyalty, kindness, and second chances. A tough stray cat (that talks), a mother and daughter (refugees from Ukraine), 2 antique bears (from WW1) and a (dishonest) antiques “picker” make for an unforgettable tale. This heartwarming delight is suggested read for 8 – 12 year olds. I recommend that YOU read it because you are never too old for a really good book!
