The Hymn to Dionysus

This is a great read for fans of Dionysus!

It's whimsical, it's brutal, it's raw, it's romantic, it's awful, and it's wonderful. In other words, it truly captured the multifaceted chaos that Dionysus personifies. 

The language and writing style are quite different from any mythological fiction I've ever read and yet it still managed to convey the opaque mystique of myth and dance beautifully between what is appealing and appalling about this particular Greek god and the ancient Mediterranean region in general. 

I would recommend it wholeheartedly if that sounds like your cup of tea (or wine).
