A fresh fairytale romance in graphic novel form

A lady in waiting who is secretly a fairy falls in love with an enchanted suit of armor. A love triangle develops when the castle’s mage also falls for her and agrees to make her his apprentice. A knight and his squire also are in a forbidden relationship. Secrets and romance fill the castle while a war with the fairies simmers. The art is cute and colorful, with a hint of Disney aesthetics to it. A fun romp for anyone who has ever wished they could spend more time at a Renaissance faire. It feels like a fairytale, but the inclusion of LGBTQ+ representation is just one of the aspects that also makes it feel fresh. I can’t wait to read the next volume!

While this graphic novel is considered “adult”—and perhaps the content changes as the series progresses—but at least in this volume, the relationships are chaste aside from one kiss, and the violence is mostly limited to the jousting kind, so I would say that this is safe for many in teen/young adult audience as well.
