A Song for You & I

This book is adorable!

In the coziest of fantasies, O'Neil tells the story of a young person learning to let go of how others see them and take the *time* necessary to grow into the person they want to be.
The thing that stuck out to me the most about the way this book was written was the way time was represented. Nothing was rushed, slowness and pausing was the point. It was written in. There are many pages without dialogue where the reader spends as much or as little time as they like moving from panel to panel, panels which often depict the passage of time in the story. The main character is forced to slow their mad dash into the future, and because of that they are able to learn a lot about themselves that they were previously glossing over.
I think this book communicates subtle and nuanced lessons for young people in an incredibly lovely way, and I can't recommend it enough. So sweet.
