Cloistered: My Years as a Nun

As a comparative religion enthusiast, I thought this would be an interesting peek inside the little-known world of Catholic religious monasteries. However, about a third of the way in I realized this was something completely different. Sixty-two-year-old Coldstream spent 12 years - her entire 30s - in a Carmelite monastery. Why did she enter the monastery and why did she eventually leave? It’s complicated! So, you’ll just have to listen to this book to learn why.  Surprisingly, it reads like a work of psychological fiction, and I had to keep reminding myself that this is a memoir; and these events actually happened. If you like memoirs and are also interested in religion, you’ll find this book very intriguing.
