Three Sunrise Nights together over three years; is it enough to build something real?

Jude and Florence are each dealing with their own demons when they run into each other at their Northern Michigan summer camp’s annual Sunrise Night - when campers can wander the camp and town until dawn. At the end of the night, they decide that they’ve become too good of friends to risk messing it up - so they won’t speak to each other at all until the next Sunrise Night. But can a friendship really be sustained on one night a year?

Cowritten in verse and dialogue, this book was a really well-done look at growing up, coming into your own person, and dealing with your own personal anxieties and setbacks. (And of course, I’m always a sucker for a Jeff Zentner book!)
