Kausar Khan’s daughter just called - Sana has been accused of murdering her universally loathed landlord; could Kausar come to Toronto to help out? Kausar immediately packs her bags and heads to her daughter’s home, where she finds herself in the middle of all sorts of trouble - marital, criminal, and financial. Kausar is known for her observational and deduction skills, but this tangle of cases may be more than she can handle.
This is a fun cozy mystery about an older aunty in her “second act”, as the author refers to it. It is the first cozy mystery I have seen featuring a Muslim woman as detective, and I thought it was really cool to learn more about the Toronto Muslim community as shown in this book. I hope to read more adventures featuring Kausar Aunty in the future.
