Apples Dipped in Gold

A quick read that leaves a strong impression!

I love how the author blends so many different fairytales but makes it such a vibrant cohesive tapestry, nonetheless. 

Despite its novella length, I found the romance decently developed, and all the side characters we meet along the way sparkle with personality.

The descriptive writing is chef's kiss and has that distinct fae flavor to it (in brevity/lack of explanation, flamboyant expression, and general brutality); even though I would probably get eaten by something, the world here sounds very beautiful, and I might want to visit.

Overall, although it's a bit quick paced, it's utterly unapologetic in how it just goes for it. 

This is the second novella in the series, but they are both standalone and I would similarly recommend the first one, Mountains Made of Glass.
