This book looks at two Latina women, involved with white established artists, and the cultural and artistic conflicts they have nearly a decade apart. Raquel is working on her thesis about artist Jack Martin. As her research deepens, she becomes more aware of Martins wife’s work and changes her thesis to be about Anita de Monte. The revelations she learns about Anita help her look at her own life in a different manner. The two timelines are easily woven together in the book but are clear and distinct. I listened to this as an eAudiobook on Libby and enjoyed how the narrator gave each person a very unique voice.
