The Deadline Clock

Which will expire first, the leads to find the kidnapper or the deadline clock?

This is a short story, available through Libby/Overdrive, that is listed as book 3.5 in the Colter Shaw series by Jeffery Deaver. In this story he helps the local police find a kidnapper who has set a deadline to receive the ransom and free the hostage, but the husband of the hostage cannot pay the ransom. Colter works his percentages and investigates alternative leads the police are not able to follow. The book moves quickly, you can feel the deadline approaching.
