A standalone from Laura Lippman (author of the popular Tess Monaghan series), Dream Girl is a witty, suspenseful look back at a writer's life, specifically his complicated relationships with women. Gerry Anderson, stuck in his penthouse apartment after suffering an injury, begins to receive phone calls from a woman claiming to be his most famous fictional creation. Anderson's paranoia (or is it?) increases as women from his past resurface, looking for answers. This is a quick read, jumping from place to place and era to era, growing more claustrophobic as Anderson's isolation continues.
