Silk is for Seduction

Come for the clothes, stay for the feels

I’m recommending this title, but also the series that it begins.

This is an older series that I was reminded of recently and enjoyed so much! 

For one, if you enjoy period clothing and descriptions thereof, you’ll be in heaven. The story centers around a group of sisters who run a modiste shop together. The way the clothing and shop weave into the plot and character development gave the story so much depth and flavor. 

Two, the relationships in this book (and the series overall especially) felt so rich, especially the ones between the sisters and the friendships they develop with the other women in the series. 

And of course, the romance is titillating, well-paced, and just what one might expect from Loretta Chase, legend that she is in Romancelandia. That and her sparkling wit are fairly a given, but I think those other elements are what really stood out to me and what make this series feel unique.
