Going to public school for the first time, Emma wants nothing more than a best friend.

A wonderful, quick, cute middle-grade read. Great for anyone nervous about going to a new school or grade, and making friends. Lord does a nice job of portraying the back-and-forth turmoil Emma faces between wanting to fit in with everyone else, and becoming friends with Jack, who has autism and is not a part of everyone else's group. It came across as believable to me. This book does a good job of teaching readers about what to look for in a good friend, and what it means to be one yourself.
