This book is the first of the Inspector Gamache series. I had this series recommended to me as another mystery, investigative series and I enjoyed this book. There is good character development and plenty of suspense. The story moves along with Inspector Gamache, and his team, as they investigate, interview and research information to help them solve the case. Louise Penny moved the story along at a good pace and did not reveal the perpetrator of the crime until the inspectors came to their conclusion.
