I stumbled upon this while browsing one of CADL's streaming services, Kanopy -- my favorite way to find documentaries these days. Hal Ashby directed a mind-boggling string of classics in the 70s (Harold and Maude, Coming Home, Being There -- just for starters!) and while he may not be a household name (although I guess it depends on your household), his influence is obvious among current filmmakers like Wes Anderson and Alexander Payne. If you're a movie-lover you'll enjoy hearing behind-the-scenes stories about some of Ashby's most famous directorial choices, and if you're new to the man you'll come away with a whole list of movies to watch next.
