McNeil did a good job combining the overall story with the world building of how Alcatraz 2.0 came to be. It got to the point where I was looking forward to the next instance of exposition to explain the background of the serial killers and how the prison works. After finishing it, I wasn't sure if the constant wondering of who was going to be the next victim was the scariest part, or the completely believable notion of the killings trending on social media. If you enjoy horror/thriller mysteries and are looking for something you may not have come across before, you'll want to check out #Murdertrending, the first in a series.
