To the Copper Country

Mihaela is a 11 year old girl struggling to find her way in a new land while missing her extended family back home.  Going by this description you could say this is a immigrant story about present day.  This story, however, takes place in 1886 in the Keweenaw Peninsula of Michigan.  It's great story for kids looking for stories about fitting in, maintaining tradition, and learning about the past.
