Agnes Grey

To help support her family, Agnes takes a job as a governess. She expects it to be fun and exciting.  She thinks all she needs to do is remember her own childhood and teach the children the way her mother taught her, but she quickly learns that is not the case. These families are not like her own, and the children are allowed to do as they please.

This book is based on Anne Bronte's own experiences as a governess.
