Epica

One of the best things about hoopla is being able to rediscover the music that meant so much to me in high school. Kamelot’s music was the first time I learned that I could combine my love of fantasy with my love of “melodic music that also has lots of drums and guitars”. This particular album is part one of an ambitious two-part rock opera based on Goethe’s Faust. Lead singer Roy Khan voices both main characters, Ariel/Faust and Mephisto, while guest singer Mari plays the part of Helena/Gretchen.
