This could easily have been called "Difficult Men"…
The stories in this collection make you feel. Some made me feel like I’d had the wind knocked out of me, some made me tear up. They feature a broad range of women mostly from everyday life, some more quirky than others… some more hurt by the world. But all strong in their way. I really loved these.
- A man with a wife of glass who strays because she’s too fragile
- Twins Hanna and Ann who’ve been minding an abusive father for too long are going to leave
- The woman punishing herself for the tragic death of her child.
Blame… recovery, and getting by the best you can.
Also Gay did her PhD at Michigan Tech and the Michigan ties are clear in this collection.
