Dusk or Dark or Dawn or Day

This is a beautiful contemporary ghost story/urban fantasy that deals with big issues like suicide, survivor’s guilt, and how we deal with grief. It has a suspense plot but what I loved was the look at Jenna’s life as a ghost, and the magic in the world McGuire has created. It is also a wonderful audiobook performed by Emily Bauer. The production gives it a real Southern Gothic feel at times--despite large sections of it taking place in New York City.
