An interesting foray into the world of physics and philosophy

The notion of time travel is primarily a 20th century invention.  According to Gleick, H.G. Well’s classic book, “The Time Machine” was a ground-breaking tale that revolutionized the way we think of time.  Time Travel: A History explores the evolution of this genre of science fiction and how it changed the way philosophers and physicists view time as concept.

I was initially attracted to this book because I was intrigued by the title.  I’ve always enjoyed movies and television shows that revolve around time travel and the space time continuum as a theme.  Who wouldn’t want to travel to the future or past? Who hasn’t ever entertained the idea of going back and changing events in one’s own life?  However, I must admit that sometimes listening to this book made my brain hurt.  But overall, this was a fun book that will allow sci-fi fans to delve into many of the paradoxes associated with the time travel genre.
