Act One

You’ll recognize “Down,” the first track on this album from an Apple commercial featuring freestyle dancer Lil Buck—the combination totally caught my attention. Disclaimer: I come to this as a dancer and not a connoisseur of electronic music. And happily the whole album just makes me want to dance. Favorite tracks include “Down” and “Wild”—which I have to at least bounce along with when they come on, the ballad “I Know Why,” and “Mistaken” with its strong saxophone from guest Steve Davit. It’s fun, accessible electronic music and a great first full album from duo Marian Hill.
