This a lovely story of a girl growing up in Boston in the twentieth century.

It's 1985 and Addie Baum is telling her life story to her granddaughter through an interview. Addie was born in 1900 and tells of her life happenings from growing up as the first child born in the US to immigrant parents to finding her true love.

It's just a warm story with excellent historical references to Boston.
