This is a beautiful compilation of interviews of creative people of every kind—potters, poets, designers, journalists, chefs—from a wide variety of backgrounds sharing their stories, advice and inspirations. There were plenty of fabulous women I recognized and love—Roxane Gay, Issa Rae, Mary Lambert, Neko Case, and Nikki Giovanni (to name a few)—and even more I want to learn more about like curator Thelma Golden, hip hop artist Lizzo, rocker Laura Jane Grace, fashion designer Bethany Yellowtail, and artists Lorna Simpson and Rinne Allen. Words they live by, ideal work spaces, best advice they were given… the answers are fascinating and inspiring.
