This book includes lots of my favorite elements: an intriguing historical mystery, a well-drawn English setting, family secrets, rediscovered letters, and a picture of both personal journeys and societal changes through World Wars I and II. Caroline Lee's excellent narration enhances the characterization, as changing points of view are indicated by distinct accents. This is a great pick for fans of Downtown Abbey and Jacqueline Winspear.
