Every Heart a Doorway

What happens when you have to come back from Wonderland or Narnia? McGuire's novella is both a creepy mystery and a wonderful look at the effects of magical worlds on the children who find their way back home--including possibly getting shipped off to boarding schools like Eleanor West's Home for Wayward Children. It has humor, true beauty and disturbing suspense. I loved it! Fans of Jo Walton's Among Others or Paul Cornell's Witches of Lychford could all find something special in this.
