Neko Case, k. d. lang, and Laura Veirs are three uniquely talented solo artists who’ve come together as a super group with all original material and amazing and unexpected harmonies. With a mix of indie-rock, folk and k.d.’s fabulously all over the place style (torch, twang, crooner, etc.), they produce a wonderful blend. “Atomic Number” sets the mood with its round-style sharing of the vocal lead and excellent harmonies on the chorus. Then as the tracks progress the individuals take lead backed by powerhouse harmonies. This is an absolute must for a fan of any member of the trio, but it’s so special everyone should give it a listen.
