Music that is both tender and rough, in equal measure.
For me, that is Eddie Vedder's "Into the Wild." While I've not seen the movie, I am moved when I listen to this soundtrack. The story of Chris McCandless (of whom the Jon Krakauer book by the same title was written) is brilliantly told through Eddie Vedder's music and lyrics. "Rise" with its ukulele accompaniment is a favorite of mine (and maybe a precursor to Eddie Vedder's "Ukulele Songs", 2011.)
