I picked this book up on a whim – historical romance is not my usual cup of coffee – and ended up finishing the entire series in two days. Well-written prose, amusing banter, interesting supporting characters, the right amount of steaminess – this book contained everything I look for in my leisure reads. The series, consisting of four books, follows the partners who run London’s most exclusive gaming hell, the Fallen Angel, and the love that redeems each one. Fans of Courtney Milan or Tessa Dare may want to give MacLean’s novels a try.
