The Wind Through the Keyhole

I absolutely love the Dark Tower series by King.

Usually when an author goes back and tries to write a "sequel" that takes place between two books, continuity issues arise and the style of the novel can just feel off.

Not so with Stephen King. He can made it work masterfully.

 

Roland, the Gunslinger, and a young companion are trapped in a horrendous storm, forced to take shelter and wait out the maelstrom. Throughout the night, Roland recounts one of his adventures as a young man, tracking down the mysterious "skin man".

 

You really can't go wrong with this one, especially if you like the rest of the Dark Tower series.
