Osama

Lavie Tidhar’s World Fantasy Award-winning novel is a thoughtful and disturbing look at the causes and effects of terrorism, creating a world where it only exists in pulp fiction, in stories so sensational and disturbing that people search for the mysterious author. Osama is a fascinating blend of noir, slipstream, and alternate history, probably most reminiscent of Philip K. Dick’s Man in the High Castle but it also reminded me of Miéville’s The City and the City or Jedidiah Berry’s Manual of Detection.
