Location(s): Okemos - In Library
Type(s): Discussion Groups, Skill Development
Age Range(s): Adults (18+)
Event Description:

Whether an avid writer, or someone who’s just beginning to dabble, if you’ve got ideas bouncing around your head, this is the place to bring them! Each month everyone will start a short story based on a writing prompt and every 10 minutes we’ll pass our stories on to the next person to pick up where we left off.  Whether you write silly or serious, all ideas are welcome! We’ll end each session with sharing the stories and discussion about how they evolved. This group will meet on the third Monday of each month.

  • June’s Prompt: A tornado is forming and your character is in the absolute worst place they can be at the moment.
  • July’s Prompt: Complete the sentence “If you look back far enough, you can see…” and write a scene or short story that contains the line.
  • August’s Prompt: It keeps getting hotter, and things are also getting weirder. Write a scene or story that describes the strange things happening the hotter it gets.
