Event Description:

The Gospel Army Black History Group / 102nd United States Colored Troops, Company C, is the largest student living history group in the nation dedicated to preserving and sharing the story of Michigan’s African American regiment during the Civil War. Their mission is to ensure that the history and contributions of the original 102nd U.S. Colored Troops (1st Michigan Colored Regiment) are honored, remembered, and understood by audiences of all ages. They will present a small Civil War-era camp outside Foster library and give visitors firsthand experience of the 1860s.
