The Book-A-Librarian service at Capital Area District Libraries allows you to reserve a free 45-minute appointment with a librarian. These sessions are tailored to meet the specific needs of the individual.

Library staff will give undivided attention to members who want in-depth technical assistance on topics like these: downloading and using the CADL app, signing up for text alerts for your library account, browsing the online catalog and placing holds, downloading e-books and audiobooks, using CADL’s online resources, searching the internet, or other computer basics.

Non-technical assistance is also available, including personalized help with a research project or helping readers discover new books and authors. You could even book a session to get an introduction to our Library of Things! We’ll show you how to request any of the dozens of useful items in that unique collection, including home improvement equipment, musical instruments, games and much more.

To schedule your own free Book-A-Librarian session, stop by or call any CADL branch for assistance. It is highly recommended that you have a CADL library card for best possible service. You can apply either online  or at a branch. Either way you need to provide proof of your address. Residents who apply will receive a four-year membership card. Non-residents may purchase a membership.
